A Study on the Coaguation Factor Adsorption with Aluminum Hydroxide Gel Suspension of Varying Dilutions

Abstract
Adsorption of coagulation factors by aluminum hydroxide is needed for preparation of adsorbed plasma, which is widely used in factor correction or mixing tests as well as substitute for factor assay. The conditions of adsorption procedure varies greatly according to authors and batches, therefore the degree of efficient adsorption depends on these conditions, such as the ratio of plasma to adsorbing agent amount, the dilution concentration of adsorbing agent with diluent and time and temperature of incubation.
In order to assess adequate and efficient adsorption of factors by aluminum hydroxide gel, varying dilutions of the agent with appropriate buffer was applied to citrated plasma and after proposed procedures, adsorption results were measured by prothrombin time on both adsorbed plasma and control plasma.
